Artist of the Month

Artist Den | Artist Submission | Artist Archives

Our featured artist for the month of November is Johanna Black Legge of Canada!!

How I Got Started in Bear Making:

I have always enjoyed crafts and hobbies. In 1997 I made my first teddy for my son. He just loved it. Then I made a bear for my daughter, she too adores her bear. I started making my owns designs after that and the requests for bears came in. At that time I decided to create BlackBeary Enterprises.

My Bears Unique Quality:

My bears have jointed wrists and thumbs. Some bears have jointed ankles too, they are quite the little posers! I also have a line of bears with wings called Bearafims instead of Serafims. In addition to, I make little ornaments to hang on your Christmas tree called Bearubs instead of Cherubs.

Opinions on Bear Making:

Bear making today unites the world. I can't get over how many wonderful people I have met through teddy bear making. All are willing to share, help and do what they can to make life a little nicer for you. It doesn't get any better than that, does it?!
