Artist of the Month

Artist Den | Artist Submission | Artist Archives

Our featured artist for the month of October is Tina Werner of Canada!

My name is Tina Werner, I live in Brantford, Ontario Canada and I've been making bears for almost 5 years now. Starting out with store bought patterns, I made bears out of fun fur and lovely plush fabrics. I never knew how much joy I would get out of creating teddy bears. One night a good friend of mine decided to give me a lesson on how to make a bear. Once I finished that beautiful little teddy I knew in my heart that I belonged to this wonderful world of bear making!

Since all of that, I've graduated to making my own patterns, using mohair, upholstery velvets and lovely ultrasuedes to create my bears. I've made large bears, medium bears and miniature bears and have decided that miniatures are my favorite, although I have been known to throw in a big guy once and a while. I love working with my hands and always being on the artistic side I
feel that I have what it takes to create adorable
bears for people to love.
